Job Description:

The Front Office Operator answers all incoming telephone calls, screen calls, transfer calls, obtains accurate messages/tasks for the appropriate party, and provides high quality patient relations.

Essential Functions:

  • Acts as patient and provider relations representative by answering patient inquiries on the telephone.
  • Answers a multi-line telephone in a prompt and pleasant manner, determines their needs and responds accordingly.
  • Provides and ensures high-quality guest relations. Receives and relays patient complaints to management in a timely fashion.
  • Answers telephone, screens and directs incoming calls and messages to the appropriate party (scheduler, clinical staff, etc.) according to office policy
  • Records basic demographic information of caller: (i.e. name, phone number)
  • Channels all incoming and internal calls as necessary. Connects inside callers with outside lines or numbers when appropriate.

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with diverse groups of people at all levels;

  • Experience with all MS Office products including Outlook, Word and Excel

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

  • Intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, lifting of 25lbs.
  • Exposure to virus, disease and infection from patients in working environment;
  • Flexibility to adjust work schedule as needed to coordinate and accommodate changes in staff schedules;
  • May experience traumatic situations including psychiatric, dismembered and deceased patients.

Job Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)

Experience and Skills:

  • High school degree or equivalency required, college course work preferred
  • 1 to 3 years previous medical receptionist or front office experience preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
